Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday named 18 new trial court judges, pulling heavily from the ranks of current and former prosecutors and public defenders to fill vacancies in 10 counties.
Jessica Delgado, a longtime public defender, will join the Santa Clara County Superior Court. Delgado has worked in the county’s alternate public defender’s office since 2009, and she was an attorney in the public defender’s office for eight years before that. Her resume also includes public defender work in Monterey and Contra Costa counties.
